Swartland Signature Range

The Swartland range of wines is the winery’s signature collection of popular, easy drinking and well-respected varietals. Cooled by sea breezes from the Atlantic Ocean and grown mostly in the low-yielding bush vine method in dry land conditions, the grapes that are harvested for the Swartland ranges bear testament to dedicated farming. The smaller, intensely flavoured berries, regularly produce wines of high quality and consistency allowing the winemakers to create the value for constant quality wines that the cellar is known for. These Swartland wines are a true gift of nature.

SWL Pinotage A wine with a deep ruby red colour and flavours of ripe red fruits on the nose with hints of strawberry. This Pinotage is medium to full bodied and well balanced on the palate with a lingering plum aftertaste.

SWL Merlot Intense ruby red colour. Inviting raspberry and other ripe red berry flavours on the nose. The palate is well balanced with lots of fruit flavours. Medium bodied with a lingering aftertaste.

Swartland cabernet sauvignon The chocolate and cassis flavours carry through on the palate.  This fruity wine is well balanced with a good tannin structure.

SWL Tinta Barocca This traditional Port-making grape is light, smooth and fruity. It is an easy drinking wine with a dry finish.

SWL Shiraz Dry, full-bodied, deep red wine with a peppery/smoky finish on the palate. Soft and rich with good ageing potential.

SWL Shiraz / Malbec Dark, ruby red colour with purple hues on the rim. Undertones of ripe blackcurrant, complements well in the glass. Spicy black pepper, with ripe/dried peach on the palate. Well balanced regarding the structure, fruit and lingering after taste.

SWL Sauvignon Blanc Full upfront tropical flavours with underlying supporting green pepper and vegetative flavours. Acid is clean and fresh on the palate with a lingering fruity aftertaste.

SWL Chenin Blanc Typical tropical guava flavours supported by passion fruit and underlying citrus blossom flavours. The wine is full and rich on the palate with a crisp finish.

SWL Chardonnay Full, ripe, developed Chardonnay flavours supported by butterscotch and lime. Full and rich on the palate with a lingering aftertaste.

Merlot / Shiraz Soft, well-balanced, elegant berry bouquet of Merlot combined with the full-bodied peppery/smoky finish of Shiraz.

Blanc de Noir Banana-plum flavours from Pinotage on the nose, with a soft well-structured palate that lingers at the finish. Its colour is vibrant onion skin. Serve chilled.

Premier Grand Cru A lovely dry white wine with dominant passion fruit flavours. It finishes dry on the palate and leaves a lingering, crisp aftertaste. Serve chilled.

Rosé Fresh berry flavours on the nose and an easy drinking structure on the palate. This wine is a delightful strawberry colour. Enjoy chilled.
